POST RI Two-Day Teacher Training Workshop 19-20 March 2010

POST Research Institute in cooperation with the Association for Historical Dialogue & Research (AHDR) hosted a 2-Day Teacher Training Workshop on “Learning different histories – Discussing Alternative Approaches”. The bi-communal event was organised under the Education for Peace III project, funded by the European Commission and implemented by POST RI.

Seminar part of the training involved various presentations by international experts and discussions co-coordinated by Cypriot experts from across the divide which offered participants an insight into alternative approaches to teaching.  That followed by consecutive parallel workshops, designed in an interactive way, in order to provide Cypriot teachers with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of pedagogical approaches to history teaching as well as the opportunity to touch on more sensitive issues of history teaching. The workshops were facilitated by international experts from Israel, the UK and the US.
