“Cadı’nın Bohçası” (The Witch’s Bundle) staged in Cyprus

POST Research Institute and YKP-fem co-organised a public talk with Esmeray, the performer of the “Cadı’nın Bohçası” (The Witch’s Bundle) on the 19th of November, Saturday. Having taken place in the cozy atmosphere of the Cadi Kazani Cafe, the talk revolved around struggle of transgender individuals, Esmeray’s own life experience and her engagement within various organisations on the way to becoming a feminist.

The play “Cadı’nın Bohçası” staged on the following day at the Arabahmet Cultural Centre and attracted several applauses for its comic and thought-provoking appeal as much as its fine acting.

Esmeray has put her play on the stage in various cultural centres and universities in Turkey and shared her life experiences with the audiences in sincere and humorous ways. Defining herself as ‘a feminist by nature’, she claims that staging this one-person multi-character show wherever she is invited is ‘a political method’ for her.
