“World Painted with Peace” by POST RI at the Global Feast for Peace

POST RI, active in peace education since 2002, contributed to the International Day of Peace with “World Painted with Peace” activity on Sunday 21st September from 5 pm to 6 pm at Home for Cooperation.

Coordinated by The Association for Historical Dialogue & Research ( AHDR) at the Home for Cooperation (H4C) with contribution from several civil society organizations, the International Day of Peace included  other activities as well for children and adults such as dance performances Dance for Peace Cyprus, and live music from the Bicommunal Choir for Peace, Monsieur Doumani, The Drones and Touch Response Band.

Project Assistant  of “Education for a Culture of Peace” project at POST Research Institute Loizos Lukaidis says  “ We are very much excited to be active in Peace Education since our establishment in 2002 and we have been constributing to Peace by exhibiting  drawings of children from all over the world through the project entitled “World Painted with Peace” which also very much related and parallel to our recent project  on “Education for a Culture of Peace” as a vehicle to reconciliation in Cyprus.”

POST RI recently received funding to implement the “Education for a Culture of Peace” project together with its partner AHDR for 3 years.  Overall objective of the project which is to use Education for a Culture of Peace as a vehicle to bring structural changes and transformation in the Cypriot society across the divide, in order for a culture of peace to be cultivated and sustained.
