POST RI condemns the arrest of Conscientious Objector Haluk Selam Tufanli

Following the arrest of our general secretary Murat Kanatlı this year in March, another friend of POST RI has been arrested for his moral stand. We express our full support and solidarity in our friends’ struggle for rightful objection to militarism and urge authorities to recognize conscientious objection as a human right.

Forcing someone who is unwilling to take weapon in his hand and serve to militarism is violation of human rights. Haluk has always been against to militarism and war as a principle. We believe that he is innocent and the authorities should respect his moral stand and his life choices guided by free conscience.

Our conscience is with him.
